We aren’t New York. I get it. We probably won’t be New York lite for a 100 years, more, or ever.
Does that stop us from wanting walkable neighbourhoods, world class art galleries and museums, nightlife and public transit systems? No, of course it doesn’t. We can have any of those things, if we want them.
The question is: what City do we want to be? Do we want to be New York? Because for those who want to live in New York, there is already one of those a short Porter flight away.
But if we don’t want to be New York, who do we want to be when grow up?
