A city doesn’t have the power to change the world. Brampton has no say in military spending, trade tariffs or insurance rates. So making a difference really boils down to thinking globally and acting locally. Take a problem as global as sexism. After all, we can’t pass a by-law that cures the world of sexism.
But it dawns on me that we could pass a bylaw requiring that men’s bathrooms be equipped with baby changing stations. You know, so fathers like myself have a safe and clean spot to change our baby’s diapers.
It would be a small victory. But one I will be proud to initiate as Mayor.
